Trekking in Oman is a fantastic opportunity to meet local people and experience the Sultanate of Oman’s breathtaking landscape. Whatever your ability, you can choose from a short trek along donkey tracks to an abandoned village through to a nine hour hike to the top of Jebal Akhdar at 2400m and everything in between.

Grand Canyon balcony walk

What you will do:
Breathe in the high mountain air and spectacular panoramic views at over 2000m as you enjoy one of Oman’s most breathtaking walks. Following the marked pathway you’ll look out over the ‘Grand Canyon’ and marvel at the sheer size and power of the Hajar mountain range before encountering the abandoned village and terracing at the end of the path. Explore the buildings and enjoy a picnic lunch before making your return journey – either along the path or by Via Ferrata and traversing (priced separately).

-          Instructor guide

-          Water / soft drinks

-         Picnic lunch

Times:

-          Hotel pick-up at 8am (or to suit if 3+ guests) 

-          Hotel drop-off by 5pm

What to bring/wear:

-          Suncream, sunglasses, hat,

-          Lightweight walking shoes or trainers

-          Day pack or Camelbak sufficient to hold a minimum of 2 litres of water

Wakan to Hadash

What you will do:
This is a truly beautiful region and the two walks available here both offer panoramic views over Wadi Mistall and the whole of the Gubrah Bowl. Both start (or finish!) at the picturesque mountain farming village of Wakan that allows you to meander through the fruit tree plantations and along the falaj system. Depending on how energetic you’re feeling and time available opt for either the 3hr or the 7hr walks, both of which follow marked pathways.

-          Hotel drop-off by 5pm
