Wadi Tiwi or Wadi Shab
What we do
Wadi shab is one of the most popular places to visit in Oman. Although parts were damaged in the cyclone it is still one of the most stunning wadis in all of Oman.
Inside the wadi you will see many date palms and small farms. There are also many waterpools along the way however some are not for swimming in as the spring water is an important part of the local villages resources.
Wadi Shab is situated in the village of Tiwi south of Muscat . It takes around two hours driving to reach the wadi with some off road driving in parts.
At the entrance of the wadi, we put our walking shoes on, sun cream and hat and begin our 40 minute walk through the wadi, past the palm trees until we reach the waterpools. Scrambling or jumping into the water we take a 5 minute swim and scramble until we see the entrance to the cave.
Once through the narrow entrance we have the chance for a relaxing swim, daring jumps or a scramble up the waterfall in the cave. Arriving back at the car we depart on a short off road drive through the village of Tiwi and onto White beach for our picnic lunch. Spend some time soaking in the sun or take a swim and snorkel in the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman before returning back to your hotel.
